Not to mention, Austin being the Capital of our great state of Texas.
I have lived in Austin for over 15+ years now and have watched this city grow from the little college town housing one of the most well-known colleges in the world, The University of Texas at Austin hosting our biggest Texas college football team the Texas Longhorns.
When I moved here, it was also known as the quirky, laid back town that the movie Dazed & Confused was filmed in... yes, starring yours truly, Mathew McConaughey when he was just a wee lad.
It's rumored that when you see a yellow Lamborghini driving around town then that's Matthew himself. He has a house here in Austin, as well as Sandra Bullock, whom both own houses in the upscale and historical Tarrytown neighborhood.
OK. So enough talk about celebrities that run this town, let's talk about how
Austin Real Estate Rocks!
Arboretum / Domain
Zilker Park is one of the most well-knowns parks in Texas. This park houses many festivals including the Austin City Limits Festival and the Kite Festival. Its also adjacently connected to Barton Springs Pool and part of the nature trails of Town Lake.
Downtown
Buda is a small town located just south of Austin. Old Town Buda, the historic small downtown area is located right off of Main Street. This town is very popular because it is still closely related to South Austin with easy access to Southpark Meadows shopping area in South Austin off of Slaughter Lane. Houses in this area range $200-$400K and you can also find some classic bungalow homes near the heart of downtown.
Buda is also home to the new Summermoon Coffee Shop, with it's sister location in Central Austin off S. First Street. Also home to the Weinie Dog Races.
East Austin
Kyle, TX is where a lot of families are migrating to since Austin's population growth and average cost of buyign a home has exceeded $175K. With brand new home builders fastly creating new housing subdivisions, you can buy a brand new home starting in the $150s.
Kyle is also smack-dab equal distance between Austin and San Marcos and is now becoming home to many students who wish to have access to both Austin and Texas State University.
With the new EVO Entertainment Complex housing a movie theater, restaurant, bar and arcade, there's no wonder why Kyle residents have a huge smile on their face.
Kyle also is home to the new Seton Hospital that is bringing a ton of new jobs and residents to the area.
